History

The Mosaics

Wonderful representations covering the cupola, the bema’s barrel vault and the apse.

Middle-Byzantine Age frescos

The most ancient decorative cycle dates back to the late 10th century.

Late Middle-Ages frescos

Another decorative cycle concerning the walls of the nave took place in the mid-12th century.

Post-Medieval Age Frescos

In the 16th century the church was enriched by new paintings.
